Danielle Irving has worked in the world of non-profits for the last 20 years, in the area of higher education and human services. She has specifically worked in the fundraising arena for the last seven years. Danielle specializes in Annual Fund work, Board Development, Capital projects and Major Gift cultivation.
Most recently, Danielle served as Major Gifts Officer for Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. In 2013, Tammy Lynn Center's partnership with Band Together raised over $850,000, the highest total in Band Together's history. She also helped coordinate "A Toast to the Triangle", the signature fund-raiser as well as the Tammy Lynn Golf Tournament and Bike Ride.
Prior to her work at Tammy Lynn Center, Danielle served as the Assistant Director of Development at Duke HomeCare & Hospice, where she worked closely with the Board of Directors and assisted with the capital campaign to build the new Hospice House at Hock Family Pavilion. Additionally, she implemented three of the most successful Hospice Galas in organizational history.
Danielle also served as the Director of Development for the Duke Catholic Center. During her tenure, the new Duke Catholic Center, the Falcone-Arena House, was opened, providing a beautiful new home for the Duke Catholic student population. Danielle worked closely with the Leadership Council and brought in single-benefactor gifts of $200,000+ for the first time for the Center.
Danielle holds a BA in Communications from Jacksonville University and an MEd in Counseling from the University of North Florida. Growing up in Florida, she is a beach-lover at heart. She enjoys social media, following philanthropy trends, cheering on Duke Basketball and is an aspiring CrossFitter. Danielle resides in Wake Forest with her husband Chris and toddler Christopher Paul.
