Judy C. Bright (Senior Advisor) joined the team of Armstrong McGuire in 2007. Her work with our clients focuses on annual fund development, endowment, strategic planning,executive coaching and board development. In January 2007, Judy retired from the YMCA of the Triangle Area after a successful 30-year career. She served the YMCA as Executive Vice President with accountability for Financial Development, Marketing and Communications, Human Resources, Risk Management, Association Strategic Planning, Board Development and the oversight of Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer.
Judy founded the WeBuildPeople annual support program in 1993. In the first year of the program, the Y raised $358,000, surpassing its goal of $250,000. In 2007 (the year Judy retired from the Y), the community invested over $3,400,000 in the WeBuildPeople program with some 1,800 volunteers involved. Her legacy of sustainable annual giving continues today with annual investments currently exceeding $5.7 million. In addition to her successful track record in annual support fundraising and endowment, Judy has broad experience in major gift campaigns and endowment programs. Her leadership has been crucial to the successful launch and completion of several capital campaigns. In 1994, Judy started the Endowment Development program, The Heritage Club, for the YMCA. Today, the Club boasts over 500 members who have included the YMCA in their estate planning through gift vehicles such as wills, insurance, property, trusts or cash.
Judy has a special interest in the leadership development of executives. She has worked extensively in the area of Executive Coaching with the goal of increasing organizational effectiveness by enhancing sustainable leadership capacity.
