Shannon Williams joined our firm at the start of 2008, bringing 15 years of development experience to our team. She has worked with independent schools and human service organizations, focusing on both annual and capital development.
Throughout her career Shannon has been a leader of successful capital campaigns ranging from $8 million to more than $17 million and in annual campaigns ranging from $200,000 to more than $3.5 million. Effectively motivating and managing volunteers and staff has been a trademark of her success.
As a 1993 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, Shannon also brings strong writing skills to our team. She has vast experience in case statement writing, development publications, and event planning.
Most recently, Shannon served as the Associate Vice President for Development with the YMCA of the Triangle in Raleigh. During her time with the Y, she managed multiple capital efforts, raising more than $17 million toward the construction of two new YMCA branches and renovations to three YMCA camps.
Before joining the YMCA, Shannon worked with Ravenscroft School, an independent day school serving nearly 1,200 K-12 students in Raleigh. At Ravenscroft, Shannon grew the annual giving program by more than 80 percent in 3 years and revamped key school publications. In addition, she managed the launch of a successful $10 million capital campaign.
