New Leaders in the Non-Profit Community

Armstrong McGuire is pleased to celebrate recent new placements for clients. 

Passage Home is pleased to announce that Seth Friedman will be joining the organization as Chief Executive Officer on May 7, 2018.  Seth is a nonprofit professional with more than 15 years of experience supporting clients from areas of concentrated poverty. Seth comes to Passage Home from his current role as the Director of Philanthropy for the ACLU of North Carolina.

Rhoda Dompier began serving as President and CEO at Life Experiences in March. She is the former Executive Director of Life Plan Trust in Apex, NC. Her career has been shaped by her passion for working alongside individuals with disabilities and helping those who support them on a daily basis.

Congratulations to Kristen Brown Smalley new Vice President of Philanthropy for the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina.  Kristen will guide statewide fundraising and community engagement efforts after spending 10 years at Duke University, most recently as Senior Gift Planning Counsel. Prior to her time at Duke, Kristen worked with the Triangle Community Foundation and as a tax attorney.

Annie Schmidt has been hired as the Executive Director of NAMI Wake County. Annie’s experience includes building effective partnerships, generating sustainable growth models, creating program plans and evaluating program effectiveness. She has personally witnessed the positive impact NAMI creates through building communities of support when individuals feel lost and alone and she is dedicated to supporting those affected by mental illness.

Congratulations to Kimberly Williams, who assumed the role of Chief Operations Officer for the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities in January. Kim brings great experience to the position, having served the last ten years as the Chief Operating Officer for North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

We are excited to announce the promotion of Marisette Hasan to Chief Executive Officer of The Carolinas Center, and the hire of Ray Riordan – formerly with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network – as the organization’s Vice President of North Carolina Programs.
