To prepare for your search, Armstrong McGuire's discovery phase is designed to quickly gain an understanding of the position and the opportunity being presented to candidates.  From there, our focus turns to conducting a turn-key process that will attract the strongest candidates possible.  Our approach includes: 

  1. Scanning the landscape of potential candidates, identifying professionals whose values, background, education and experience fit the desired position profile.  This process includes proactive outreach to nonprofit and philanthropic professionals, business and community leaders, and others who can help us identify top candidates. When appropriate, we also will strategically manage the posting of the opportunity with relevant online and/or print resources to ensure we are casting a wide net that captures the attention of great candidates.
  2. Screening of all applicants, examining their qualifications and bringing to the hiring manager or search committee only those who exhibit the personal and professional qualities most desirable for this position.  
  3. Supporting the hiring manager or search committee throughout the interview and selection process, including assistance with scheduling candidates, providing recommended interview formats and questions, conducting reference checks, and helping the committee reach consensus on the best candidate for the position.
