Sara graduated Magna cum Laude from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication. Her focus of study was public relations, specifically as it pertained to the nonprofit sector, and she knew early on that finding spaces that allowed her to do meaningful work for a greater purpose was her driving force.

Sara has over 12 years of experience serving in fundraising and administrative roles for organizations and companies in Colorado and North Carolina. She has worked for large, international organizations, as well as small, regionally focused organizations. Sara is passionate about finding creative solutions and implementing systems that allow organizations to operate most efficiently. She enjoys marrying her passion for nonprofit work and her administrative expertise in her role at Armstrong McGuire.

Sara currently resides in New Bern, NC, with her husband, Josh, daughter, Lucy, and their goldendoodle Zeke. You will likely find Sara chasing her daughter at a nearby park or curled up with a good book, coffee in hand.
