Staci Barfield brings more than two decades of experience helping organizations strengthen their effectiveness by pairing clear structure with thoughtful, people-centered leadership. She began her career in the corporate sector, focusing on information technology and business process improvement for companies including Gap, Inc., Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), Sprint, AT&T, and Springs Industries, before moving into the nonprofit sector in search of work that felt more connected to mission and community impact.
Her nonprofit leadership experience includes serving as Vice President of Development for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Eastern NC Chapter, Executive Director of National Students of AMF, and CEO of Children’s Flight of Hope. These roles gave Staci a front-row seat to the realities of nonprofit leadership—where governance, fundraising, operations, and personalities all intersect, often in messy and meaningful ways.
Staci’s work is grounded in helping organizations make sense of complexity. She enjoys translating big, sometimes abstract challenges into practical frameworks that leaders and boards can actually use, while also creating space for honest conversation about what’s happening beneath the surface. Whether she’s working on governance structures, leadership transitions, or strategic priorities, she brings both analytical rigor and empathy to the process.
A lifelong learner, Staci holds certifications in Organizational Design (Cornell University), Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations (Harvard Kennedy School), Leadership in Action (Center for Creative Leadership), and Information Technology Leadership (Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business). In 2017, she was recognized with a Women in Business Award from the Triangle Business Journal.
“Lead with clarity and care. Make the complex human. Name what’s true, then build what’s needed."
