How do I apply?

The process includes an online application followed by an interview.

What is the cost of the program?

The investment is $1,250. This covers all six virtual sessions, all templates and tools, peer network access and professional certification.

When are cohorts scheduled?

There are two cohorts per year in the Spring and Fall. The next one is scheduled for September 25 - December 4, 2026/

How is the IMI program structured?

IMI is a virtual, cohort-based program featuring six live sessions. The schedule includes 18 total engagement hours including a balance of LIVE sessions and small group networking. Virtual training sessions are held on Fridays from 10:00 AM–Noon EST and 2:00–4:00 PM EST.

Who should apply for the IMI program?

The program is for senior nonprofit leaders like Executive Directors, CEOs, CFOs and consultants who have 10 or more years of leadership experience and want to build a purposeful interim practice.

What is the Interim Management Institute?

The Interim Management Institute (IMI) is a training and certification program that prepares experienced leaders to step into nonprofits during leadership transitions, stabilize operations and set up the next permanent leader for success.
