In a relationship economy, an annual donor means just as much as a corporate funder because the focus is on human connection, which is the key to a community-centered and donor-driven fundraising strategy.
Change is always in the air at this time of year, but I have been feeling there is much more of it as we look forward to the fall of 2014 than ever before in my life.
At a nonprofit technology conference I attended at the beginning of the summer there was a lot of hallway buzz about donor management systems. Everyone wanted to learn more about free or inexpensive software.

Attending a class several years ago, the professor asked each of us how many fundraisers were in our respective nonprofit organizations. I was a one person shop at Duke Catholic Center at that time so I answered “one."
