The Hunt for Red October: How to Find a Great Executive Director

I love movies and one of my favorite movies is The Hunt for Red October adapted from Tom Clancy’s bestselling book. You remember it – Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, Ed Harris and James Earl Jones.
It’s that time. Everything is covered in a yellow blanket of pollen. Flowers are blooming. Short sleeved shirts are re-emerging. It finally feels like Spring!
My family took a trip to Washington, DC this past weekend to attend a wonderful performance of "Bye Bye Birdie" at my niece's high school (shout out to Jill Ford for her outstanding portrayal of Rosie).
The snow and ice of February has faded into a distant memory—at least in Raleigh (sorry friends further north). In North Carolina we are bracing for our next ground covering—pollen!
I love St. Patrick’s Day! Even though I’m not Irish, it’s a time we can ALL be Irish for a day. This year, my husband and I went out with friends to celebrate over green beers and pints of Guinness.

As we turned our clocks forward this past weekend, I realized how much I love this time of year as it’s lighter later and everything comes into bloom. Things are new, young and exciting.
I’ve been thinking about mission statements lately and it’s going to get worse before it’s all over. I’m usually on the consultant side of the process when working with nonprofit clients, which is very interesting.
