Uncharitable: Dispelling the Overhead Myth

Do you serve on a nonprofit board in the Triangle or surrounding areas? Are you a funder that supports nonprofits? Join us for a FREE screening of Uncharitable, a film that highlights our societal viewpoints of corporate and nonprofit spending and investment. It is designed to create conversation about how we empower or limit nonprofits to deliver their mission. The next showing will be held at the Marbles iMax Theater in Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, June 12th from 5-7 pm. Seats are going fast! Reserve your spot here.

Two nonprofits will be randomly chosen to receive $2500 at each screening. Your nonprofit could be the one!

Our goal in promoting the Uncharitable documentary and book among nonprofit leaders, board members and funders is conversation.

We don't claim to have the answers, but we are fully committed to leading and engaging the conversation. We hope you will continue to speak in. In the meantime, here is what some leaders and funders had to say. Read More

Armstrong McGuire is a proud sponsor of this private showing of Uncharitable.

Do You See What I See? Part 3 of our 2024 DEI Series

That is the question Strategic Advisor Darryl Lester will continue to explore in the next virtual conversation of our 2024 DEI Series: “Do You See What I See? Unpacking the Narratives around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” on Wednesday, September 18th, at noon.

This will be the third of a 4-part virtual series, but don’t worry if you missed the previous conversations or can’t join all four conversations. We hope you will come when you can.

The sessions will focus on findings from the report Investing in Dismantling Structural Racism and Economic Inequity in Rural America conducted by Linetta Gilbert, Darryl Lester,  Peter Plastrik, Olivia Roanhorse, Vanessa Roanhorse, and Maggie Ullman.

Our final DEI Conversations will take place on Wednesday, October 16th at noon.

Please reach out to Sara Littlejohn to be added to the calendar invites and receive the Zoom link.

Becoming an Interim Executive.

The Interim Management Institute curriculum was developed by Director of Interim Management Services Kathy Ridge with research into best practices, methodology and case studies of nonprofit interim executive leadership combined with more than a decade of experience leading nonprofits herself and by guiding leadership transitions as an interim executive through her former company LevRidge Resources.

The Institute is a cohort of live, virtual learning experiences comprised of 6 sessions designed to prepare you for the challenges and opportunities facing interim leaders.

Each session is 2 hours and the sessions are spaced over 3 months with reading, reflection, and writing homework between sessions.

Learn More about the Institute, Criteria for Admission and to Apply. The Fall Institute starts on September 20th. Register for a free, virtual information session on August 16th at noon here.

Positive Intelligence: developing mastery over your mind

Like being physically fit allows one to climb steep hills with ease, so does being mentally fit allow one to handle life’s challenges easily. Mental fitness increases happiness, satisfaction, and productivity. It leads to a quicker recovery when you are thrown off balance. Negativity is diminished, which leads to greater joy and performance! It takes practice; mental fitness practice empowers a shift to positivity.

The Positive Intelligence POD will be a group of 4+ people that will be given the opportunity to participate in:

Information Session (prior to start of 6 weeks)
- 6-week program
- PQ Assessment
- Saboteur Assessment
- Access to the PQ app
- Weekly POD facilitation

The next PQ cohort starts on Monday, October 7th at noon. Register here. Register for for a free, virtual information session on Monday, September 30th at noon here.
