Armstrong McGuire is excited to announce that Stephen L. Smith and David Middleton are joining the team as Senior Advisors.

Stephen L. Smith brings over 27 years of leadership experience in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors with a track record of leading transformational change in businesses and nonprofits. Previously, Stephen served as the Executive Director of Charlotte Family Housing, Executive Director of The Harvest Center of Charlotte, and Founding Executive Director of Freedom Communities.

Stephen is also a licensed attorney whose extensive career in financial services included advising high-net worth families with PNC Bank Wealth Management and Calibre, a division of Wachovia Investment Bank/Wealth Management.

Stephen is a Certified Interim Executive and is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

David Middleton has led entrepreneurial and nonprofit organizations for more than three decades. He has served as the CEO for a regional shared workspace company (EPCOR Business Centers), CMO for a renowned public relations firm (French/West/Vaughan), EVP of the international Alliance Business Centers Network, and as a successful commercial real estate executive. David’s nonprofit experience includes leading strategic planning, rebranding, board and staff development and executive transitions for organizations including Special Olympics World Games, Global Workspace Association, Occoneechee Council/Scouting, and Nevins Inc. of Mecklenburg County. David is also a Certified Interim Executive.

David's efforts and involvement have been focused around four pillars he lives by – human dignity for all; intellectual freedom treated responsibly; faith with curiosity; wit, wonder, wisdom.
