Setting goals and benchmarking success through outcomes and impact continues to be a hot topic of conversation for nonprofits and their funders. Both seem to be in a quandary on how to measure success and impact.
Universities, colleges, small and large nonprofits all need to utilize volunteers to accomplish programmatic, governance and fundraising goals. Presidents, CEOs and Development Officers spend a lot of time recruiting volunteer leadership, training volunteers, communicating with volunteers and acknowledging volunteers. I dare pose the question “Are your volunteers happy?” and “Are organizations happy with their volunteers?”
When I first started my fundraising career, I was given a laminated card the size of a business card and on it was listed all of the questions a prospective donor should be asked in a cultivation meeting. It was very handy and fit right in my wallet.
A comprehensive fundraising campaign is not a new idea and coordinates multiple campaigns into one. This type of campaign is more strategic than a typical capital campaign.
