Looking For What Matters

Over the last week I have made several major gift calls with this newly retired UNC physician whose former patients, residents, medical students and colleagues as well as his fellow churchgoers and many community friends mean that he is well-respected and well-connected in town.

We will soon be hosting a high school graduation party at our home for my oldest child. UNC Chapel Hill, here comes my son Robert! (For those of you who know the extent to which the old gold and black of Wake Forest colors everything in the Armstrong family, you know how challenging those words are for me.)

Raise Money Like a Mother

This Sunday, we Americans will celebrate Mother’s Day. We might bring the mothers in our lives flowers, or take them to brunch or dinner to let them know how much we appreciate them. May I suggest another idea? Invite one of the fabulous, multi-tasking, capable and compassionate mothers you know to serve on the board of your nonprofit.
